Life as a student: About Norwich
The historic city of Norwich is dominated by its magnificent Norman cathedral, boasting the largest cloisters in England, the second tallest spire in the country and an amazing 1,200 carved stone roof bosses – one of the greatest art treasures of medieval Europe. Norwich is proud of its past and present status. Its ancient buildings and city wall remains make it the most complete medieval city in Britain. In medieval times Norwich was one of the greatest cities in England, and today, as East Anglia’s capital city, it still is – offering a rare blend of historic interest and modern sophistication.
In contrast to the City's medieval buildings, is the architecturally stunning Forum; not only home to the Tourist Information Centre, this unique award-winning venue also hosts a remarkable 24 meter digital gallery displaying a changing programme of film, image and sound. Events include free exhibitions, Covent Garden style street entertainment in summer and an outdoor ice rink at Christmas. The Forum is also home to the regional BBC studios and Norwich's public library. Enjoy superb views of St Peter Mancroft church (the largest church in Norwich) and beyond, from the first floor restaurant.
Norwich has also always been a great place for a night out with stylish café bars, pubs, clubs, cinemas, theatres, restaurants, nightclubs, concerts, exhibitions and festivals. The choice is endless so whether you’re into alternative comedy, classical music, top West End musicals or indy films and bands Norwich with its plethora of arts venues and year long programme of entertainment will always have something for you.
Life as a student: at Easton College
Easton College has plenty of social activities for students to get involved in.
Alongside the facilities which students can use (such as the tennis centre, gym, library and bar) there is also a Sports Development Manager who is dedicated to providing activities for all students to get involved in; this includes weekly clubs (such as Badminton, football, trampolining, netball, basketball and table tennis) and funded sessions (which in the past have included rock-climbing, sailing and fishing).
Life as a student at Easton College can be varied and fun, and students are encouraged to take part.
