Easton College Courses : Part Time
NVQ Level 3 Pig Production



1 day per week for 12-18 months


Entry Requirements: 
Normal entry requirements for the course are an NVQ Level 2 and employment at a suitable level for the qualification. Prospective students are invited to visit the College for a personal discussion with the course tutor to assess how the course can assist towards their intended career.


The Course:
A national vocational qualification is a work-based qualification which provides candidates with training and assessment relevant to their current employment or work placement, enabling them to reach a certain level of competence and knowledge required by the industry.



Course Content:
Stockmanship, health and disease management, feeding and nutrition, housing management of breeding stock, record keeping, supervisory management, production planning, finishing and recording stock, and key skills.


Progression:
Supervisory management qualification.  Foundation Degree Courses


Equipment Required:
Writing materials.  Lever arch file and dividers.


Financial Information:
16 – 18 Year Old Students – if you are aged between 16 and 18 on 31st August 2007 and have been resident in the UK for the last three years you do not have to pay tuition or examination fees.



19-24 Year Old Students without a Full Level 3 Qualification - if you are aged 19 to 24, do not have a full level 3 qualification, have been resident in the UK for the last three years and complete the form confirming your qualification status you do not have to pay tuition or exam fees.


Students aged 25 and over will be required to pay the tuition and exam fees for the course, as listed below.


The current tuition/course fees are £469, with £115 examination fee. If you are required to pay, ALL course related tuition and examination fees for this course are payable at the time of enrolment by cash, cheque or credit/debit card.
