NVQ Level 2 Environmental Conservation

1 day per week for 1 year

Entry Requirements: 
No formal requirements, but a positive interest in countryside management will need to be shown at interview.  Candidates will need their own employment in the industry.

The Course:
This apprenticeship will look to provide candidates with the necessary skills required to carry out the main tasks of a conservation worker carrying out various jobs throughout the seasons. You will be working alongside staff ojn a local nature reserve or relevant site to gain much of your knowledge, supplemented by study at College.  Assessment is by completion of a portfolio of evidence and regular assessment by visiting assessors. 

Course Content:
Key skills, ecology and conservation skills, practical estate skills, dealing with the public, habitat management, wildlife studies.

National Diploma, Advanced apprenticeship

16 – 18 Year Old Students – if you are aged between 16 and 18 on 31st August 2007 and have been resident in the UK for the last three years you do not have to pay tuition or examination fees.

19+ Students without a Full Level 2 Qualification - if you are 19 or over, do not have a full level 2 qualification, have been resident in the UK for the last three years and complete the form confirming your qualification status you do not have to pay tuition or exam fees.

19+ with a Full Level 2 Qualification or Higher - if you are 19+ you will be required to pay the tuition and exam fees for the course, as listed below.

The current tuition/course fees are £469, with £110 examination fee. If you are required to pay, ALL course related tuition and examination fees for this course are payable at the time of enrolment by cash, cheque or credit/debit card.
