NVQ LEVEL 2 SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

Entry Requirements: 
There are no formal requirements although candidates should be employed and have an involvement in purchasing supplies.

The Course:
A national vocational qualification is a work-based qualification which gives recognition of candidates’ skills, knowledge and understanding. It allows candidates to gain a qualification in the workplace that relates to their job and promotes good working practice.  Candidates will be assessed in on the job skills necessary for tasks such as obtaining information on the supply chain, identifying potential suppliers, placing orders, monitoring distribution of supplies. Continuous assessment will be covered by portfolio building, collection of evidence of carrying out the required tasks detailed in the NVQ, eg. photographs, copies of records, witness testimonies.
 
Attendance:
The course is assessed wholly in the workplace. The start date is flexible.

Course Content:
Mandatory units:
· Contribute to operational relationships within the supply chain.
· Obtain information on the supply chain
Three units from:
· Identify potential suppliers for the supply chain
· Place orders with suppliers
· Monitor and progress the delivery of orders
· Monitor the flow of supplies within the supply chain
· Obtain information on storage locations and facilities
· Obtain information on the distribution of supplies
· Monitor the distribution of supplies
· Monitor the flow of returned supplies
· Monitor the transportation of supplies

Progression:
NVQ Level 3 in SCM. Membership of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies

Equipment Required:
No special equipment is required.

Financial Information:
16 – 18 Year Old Students – if you are aged between 16 and 18 on 31st August 2007 and have been resident in the UK for the last three years you do not have to pay tuition or examination fees.
19+ Students without a Full Level 2 Qualification - if you are 19 or over, do not have a full level 2 qualification, have been resident in the UK for the last three years and complete the form confirming your qualification status you do not have to pay tuition or exam fees.
19+ with a Full Level 2 Qualification or Higher - if you are 19+ you will be required to pay the tuition and exam fees for the course, as listed below.
The current tuition/course fees are £469, with £110 examination fee. If you are required to pay, ALL course related tuition and examination fees for this course are payable at the time of enrolment by cash, cheque or credit/debit card.
